Right from the Powerbook, I'm proud to release Whitehorse 2007.
This widget made for Mac OS X Tiger has 2 main functionalities:

• A countdown until the Whitehorse 2007 Canada Winter Games... in order not to miss the Grand opening!
• A news agregator... to stay aware of the latest news about the games and their arrangements!

This is available in english and in french as well : just select the option behind the widget (see Features below...).

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is required.

If you’re using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

If you’re using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

Upon launch the widget displays only the countdown information in english.

On the front side, you can see the countdown, and if you click on the Canada Games logo, this will open the website.
At the bottom of the widget man can see "+ News" : if clicked, the widget body will expand and display the news feed directly taken from the 2007canadagames website. Those news refresh every 30 minutes. You need to have an active Internet connexion to retrieve the news.
Each news item links to the corresponding whole news page online.
A dark-grey text indicates a news not read. A light grey text indicates that you previously clicked on this news. A blue text indicates the latest news if not already read. And a blinking background indicates the latest news just released.
Clicking again on the bottom of the widget will reduce it and hide the news : hiding/showing the news panel can be a way to refresh news manually if needed, and will stop the blinking of the new news.

When moving your mouse over the widget front side, a small "i" appears at the bottom right: clicking on it will flip the widget on itself, and you'll see the setup panel.
On this panel, a listbox allows to choose the language used for the countdown and news.
The widget version is displayed at the bottom of the pane, if a newer version exists, then an information will be displayed with a link to download the new one.
Clicking the "OK" button will flip back the widget on the front side.

- Date change : the games have been extended by one day!
